All of our picks are weighted by stars or what others would call "units".  It is a wagering tool to help justify how much to wager.  For example if a star for you is $25 and you are betting 8* on Texas -7 you would be wagering $200. (8x25=200)  As a handicapper it is very important to keep track of your units in order to profit.  Remember it is you that decides on what the value of your stars are.
